Latino Media Relations Coordinator for Large Labor Union

Local 32BJ SEIU is one of the largest and most dynamic labor unions in the Northeast, with more than 85,000 members in 6 states and Washington, DC.

Location: Based out New York City or Washington, DC with frequent travel
Job Description: Responsible for print and broadcast Latino media in NY, NJ, CT, PA, MD and DC. Duties include: media monitoring, press clip and press release translation, press release drafting, arranging paid media, event planning and staffing and pro-active press outreach. Reports to the Director of Communications. 

Required: Fluency in Spanish and English
Preferred: At least 5 to 10 years political and/or journalism experience, including experience working or covering City, State or Federal government; knowledge of immigration issues; familiarity with Latino community and experience with working for or with organized labor.
