Research Director
The New York State Democratic Party
The New York State Democratic Party is seeking a seasoned political Research Director to direct all statewide campaign research for the 2008 election cycle.
- Build and manage a successful research-based communications department within the state party
- Work directly with Democratic staffers and candidates around the state to advance the party’s agenda in the upcoming campaign cycle
- Develop and implement effective research strategies for political, advocacy, and communications purposes that support targeted Democratic candidates
- Provide leadership and strategic thinking to further the party’s vision and mission, specifically with an eye towards the 2008 campaign season
The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated a strong commitment to Democratic ideals and possess the research tools necessary to advance a progressive agenda. The Director will have excellent research, communication, leadership, management, and problem-solving skills and have an intimate understanding of the City and State political landscape.
- Minimum 4 years research experience, preferably in NYC politics
- Demonstrable ability to develop, implement, and support a hard-hitting research-based communications strategy
- Superior organizational, leadership, strategic thinking and planning skills
- Strong writing and editing skills
