ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Common Cause/New York

The Associate Director will work with the Executive Director on a variety of organizational and programmatic activities including lobbying and legislative strategy, policy research and advocacy, press relations, day-to-day management, and grassroots organizing. Developing and implement grassroots organizing strategies. Coordinate state membership activities and expand membership,  attracting diverse constituencies and  supervise interns and volunteers  The successful candidate will have  3-6 years organizing, political, or government experience working on significant policy issues statewide  or locally in New York and a commitment to Common Cause objectives.  Familiarity withreform issues, including campaign finance, voter protection and technology, judicial selection, and/or media consolidation, a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated skill in public speaking and advocacy writing.
